Albert Lee is one of the most respected and renowned guitarists in music history, having worked with The Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris and The Cricketts over his long and illustrious career. The British-born country-rock artist started his career during the emerging rock ‘n’ roll scene of sixties London, when he swapped bands with the likes of Jimmy Page and Chris Farlowe.

Rachael and Dominic Davis in Concert

Rachael & Dominic are home for the holidays and that means a late Christmas present for all of us! This Nashville TN husband and wife duo are no strangers to Michigan. Rachael (Rachael Davis Music) was raised in Cadillac among her family string band “Lake Effect”, she grew up attending folk festivals and concerts until she made her debut record and set out on her own. Along the way she has won a Boston Music Award and is 1/3 of the folk super group The Sweet Water Warblers. Dominic was born and raised in Southwest Detroit and has become one of the most sought after musicians in Nashville. Between Jack White tours he’s worked with a variety of artists including Willie Nelson, May Erlewine, Nas, Christina Aguilera, T Bone Burnett and Neil Young. Most recently, he co-produced the latest Greensky Bluegrass album, “All For The Money”!

Sunday Afternoon Concert Series – Trio Abelia

Trio Abelia performs original works for oboe, horn and piano. Abelia is a Hebrew name meaning “breath”— breathe through instruments and the breath of life through music together. Geralyn Giovannetti is Professor of Oboe at Brigham Young University in Utah and Denise Root Pierce is Professor of Horn at Eastern Michigan University. Pianist David Palmer is Professor Emeritus University of Windsor.

Traditional Irish Music Session

Whether a beginner or an advanced session player, bring your Irish musical instrument and participate in LDL’s merry band of Irish session players. Even if you don’t play an instrument, come and listen. This program is in partnership with the Celtic band Uneven Ground. One for the Foxes wsg Uneven Ground

One for the Foxes is an exciting and dynamic trans-Atlantic trio. Hailing from Ireland and the US, the trio present a rousing blend of Irish and American folk music that will have you singing along and your feet stomping. The group is made up of Dublin’s Tadhg Ó Meachair (Goitse), Galway’s Dave Curley (SLIDE) and Denver’s Joanna Hyde (The Hydes). Come join them at Loutit District Library for a thrilling evening of music.

Opening for One for the Foxes will be local traditional Celtic band Uneven Ground. This concert provided by the Michigan Irish Music Festival, Reliant Professional Cleaning, and Loutit District Library with special support from Celtic Seasons, Carol Alexander, and Kevin Carbary.
